Man honoured for rescuing 2 girls from drowning

In a humanitarian gesture that embodies the values of cooperation and community responsibility, Brigadier General Yousef Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director General of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, accompanied by Brigadier General Saeed Obaid Rashid Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General, visited two girls who had been rescued from drowning near Al Mamzar Beach in Sharjah.

This visit provided an opportunity to check on the girls' health and safety following their rescue, which was made possible by the rapid response and community cooperation. During the visit, Brigadier General Yousef Al Shamsi expressed his happiness at the safety of the two girls.

He stressed that the efforts of the Civil Defence teams in the field, combined with individuals' awareness of their social responsibility, form an integrated system for protecting lives.

He emphasised that the Authority appreciates humanitarian actions that demonstrate cooperation and courage, and that saving lives is the ultimate national duty.
