Kerala people recall Pope Leo's visit to state

Many in Kerala took to social media, recalling fond memories of meeting Fr Robert Francis Prevost during his visit to the southern Indian state years ago.

Long before he ascended to the role of Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church, Fr Robert Francis Prevost was familiar when he embarked on a significant journey to southern India.

Many posted his photographs with local clergy when he visited Varapuzha Basilica while serving as the Prior General of the Order of St Augustine (OSA) last century.

He was in a pivotal role that allowed him to engage with various communities and promote the values of the Augustinian tradition.
