Eid Al Adha likely to be on June 6, says IAC

The International Astronomical Centre (IAC) announced that the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah 1446 AH will be observed on Tuesday, May 27, across the Islamic world.

According to Engineer Mohammad Shawkat Odah, Director of the IAC, the moon will be visible using telescopes in Central and West Asia, most of Africa, and Europe. It can also be seen with the naked eye in large parts of the Americas. Based on these observations, Wednesday, May 28, is expected to mark the first day of Dhul Hijjah, with Friday, June 6, being the first day of Eid Al Adha in most Islamic countries.
