BNP-M chief Akhtar Mengal barred from leaving Pakistan

Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) head Akhtar Mengal was disallowed to leave for abroad and was offloaded from a foreign country bound private airline's flight.

Mengal said in a post on X that he was offloaded from plane while travelling to the a foreign country from Quetta and was told by Immigration staff that his name was placed in the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).

He shared a screenshot of the immigration data where his name was included with the approval of the competent authority with explicit directions to prevent him from going out of Pakistan.

Reacting to the development, former federal minister Agha Hasan Baloch and Ghulam Nabi Mari condemned Mengal's offloading and termed the move unlawful and unconstitutional.
