UAE releases 81 falcons in Kazakhstan habitat

This year's release involved 53 Peregrine and 28 Saker falcons
In May 2025, the Shaikh Zayed Falcon Release Programme marked the start of its fourth decade by releasing 81 falcons into the wild in Kazakhstan.
Since the programme's inception in 1995, 2,355 falcons — Saker and Peregrine species — have been reintroduced into their habitats.
The initiative aims to strengthen falcon populations and protect them from habitat loss, unsustainable breeding, and climate change.
