FAMILIES, AMATEURS AND PROFESSIONALS PARTICIPATE IN DUBAI RIDE ON SECOND DAY OF DUBAI FITNESS CHALLENGE

- BY ASHWANI KUMAR

Thousands of cyclists, from families with little ones in tow to seasoned pros, turned Shaikh Zayed Road into a sea of wheels and colour early yesterday as the sixth edition of the DP World Dubai Ride took off on the second day of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.

A record 40,327 cyclists pedalled past Dubai's iconic landmarks, including the Museum of the Future, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Water Canal.

The family-friendly 4km Downtown loop guided riders through the Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Boulevard, offering stunning views of Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa.

The 12km Shaikh Zayed Road route delivered an unparalleled urban cycling experience, passing the Museum of the Future and Dubai Water Canal.

Smiles, selfies and the sound of spinning gears filled the cool morning air as riders set off on the two scenic routes.
