As the charred towers of Wang Fuk Court continued to smoulder yesterday, hundreds of Hong Kong residents survivors, neighbours and volunteers fanned out across parks, shelters and online groups, desperately searching for more than 250 people still missing after the city’s deadliest blaze in decades.

For 69-year-old retiree Kwok, the search began hours after she helped save her wheelchair-bound neighbour from the inferno.
