Emirates Road expansion to ease Dubai-Sharjah commute

TWO-YEAR PROJECT TO MAKE HIGHWAY FIVE LANES OVER A 25KM STRETCH
The Emirates Road Enhancement Project, scheduled to begin in September and be completed in two years, is expcted to cut travel time between Dubai and Sharjah, and the northern emirates by 45 per cent.
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced the Dh750 million project for the highway that links Dubai with Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah.
The project seeks to expand Emirates Road from three to five lanes in each direction over a 25km stretch between Al Badee Interchange in Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain.
