Criminal record checks for private school teachers

Abu Dhabi mandates certificate of good conduct for applicants

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) in Abu Dhabi has confirmed that a criminal record check, or a certificate of good conduct, is mandatory for candidates applying to work in the emirate’s private schools.

Resident applicants can get it from competent authorities within the UAE, while applicants from abroad must obtain the certificate from relevant authorities in their home countries.

Adek also announced the implementation of a programme aimed at familiarising new and foreign teachers and school staff with Emirati culture, customs, and traditions.
