GRIMSBY Town have confirmed that goalkeeper Charlie Casper has returned to his parent club, Burnley, cutting short his loan spell with the Mariners.

The 20-year-old had joined on a season-long loan deal, serving as back up to first choice and fellow summer arrival Christy Pym, but the latter's recent injury has changed the goalkeeping situation at Town.

Jackson Smith has arrived on an emergency loan, but the club could potentially be looking for a first-choice option on loan for the rest of the campaign this month, depending on how quickly Pym recovers from his groin issue.
