ARTELL PRAISE FOR EXITING STARS
Grimsby Telegraph
|May 10, 2025
GRIMSBY Town boss David Artell says he's grateful to all those leaving the club for their "hard work and professionalism.
The Mariners face another season in League Two after missing out on the play-offs with a last-day defeat against Wimbledon.
In the wake of that result, Town have issued their retained and released list with a quintet of stars let go at the end of their contracts this summer.
With the Mariners having most of their key pieces already tied down beyond this campaign, Artell did not have to make many tough decisions about who he let leave for free.
Jake Eastwood, Curtis Thompson, Rekeil Pyke, Donovan Wilson, and youth player Harvey Cribb were the five to be released, with contracted Jordan Wright and Matty Carson placed on the transfer list.
Denver Hume was the only out-of-contract player to be offered new terms as expected, but it is also believed he will have other offers on the table after a standout campaign in League Two.
