GRIMSBY Town now go full steam ahead into the playoffs, with David Artell wanting his team to show why they have been the form team in League Two in 2026.

Without the nine-game slide leading up to Christmas, during which most felt the team were unfortunate with the results they were picking up, the Mariners may have avoided the playoffs altogether and would be thinking about League One already.

They are where they are, though, thanks to the great form they have shown in this calendar year, ending up with 51 points from the last 25 matches, which no side in the fourth tier could match over the same period.

The final day results meant they have matched up with Salford City in the playoff semifinal, whom they beat 2-0 away in October and 3-1 at Blundell Park in early March.
