Victory Second-half try blitz is enough to give Griffins the cup

LONGLEVENS lifted the North Gloucester Combination Senior Cup with a 31-7 success over Matson at Kingsholm.

The Griffins opened the scoring with a converted try from Jed Holman-Jones, followed by a penalty to open up a 10-0 lead.

Matson replied with a try from Jack Hayes converted by Ryan Woodhouse making it 10-7 at half-time.

But Longlevens took control in the second half, Brad Wilkins a converted try, with Luke Stratford and Matt Smith also going over as Levens took the trophy.

There was a victory for Matson United in the Junior Cup as they edged out Old Cryptians 24-22.
