SWD Eagles soar at Craven Week - but ranking system creates confusion

The SWD Eagles' U13 Craven Week and Academic teams lit up East London from 27 June to 4 July, delivering one of the most exciting campaigns in recent memory.

Backed by a record-breaking crowd of over 100 local fans and family accompanying the groups as supporters, the Eagles arrived with purpose and left with pride, passion and plenty of unanswered questions.

After a fifth-place finish in 2024, this year's Craven Week A team was stronger, faster and full of fire. They were widely tipped to top the log, and they almost did. According to the It's Happening Africa app, an app providing play-by-play updates on various sporting events across the continent, SWD finished second overall. They scored the most points in the tournament (114), conceded the fewest (35), and posted the best points difference (+79), with a staggering 17 tries scored to just five conceded.
