Riverside meadow saved by crowdfund

A picturesque stretch of riverside land in Frome has been saved from the threat of development after residents raised more than £37,000 in a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Adderwell Water Meadow, a 3.5-acre green space alongside the River Frome, is now officially owned by the people of the town following the completion of its sale. The land was purchased by Frome Town Council and placed into a trust, ensuring it will be protected as a haven for wildlife and the local community for generations to come.

The move marks the culmination of years of campaigning by grassroots groups and local charity Friends of the River Frome, who worked alongside the council to preserve the meadow.
