FROM DESERT ROOTS TO DIGITAL RISE

In recent decades, the state has embraced digital transformation, renewable energy, educational excellence, and agricultural innovation to build a forward-looking and sustainable society. Below are six major areas where science and technology are shaping Rajasthan's progress, detailed with context, initiatives, and impact.

1 SOLAR ENERGY LEADERSHIP

• Rajasthan is the undisputed leader in solar energy generation in India. With over 325 sunny days a year and vast stretches of arid land, the state offers an ideal environment for solar power projects. The government has capitalised on this by developing major solar parks and encouraging private investment in solar infrastructure.

• Bhadla Solar Park is a solar power plant located in the Jodhpur district, covers an area of 56 square kilometers and has a total installed capacity of 2,245 megawatts (MW), making it India's largest and the 11th-largest solar park in the world as of 2024.

• Thousands of rural households have benefited from solar electrification, improving their quality of life and access to digital services.

• Solar power not only supports clean energy goals but also contributes significantly to employment and industrial growth in the region.

2 DIGITAL RAJASTHAN AND E-GOVERNANCE

• The “Digital Rajasthan” initiative aims to transform governance and service delivery using technology. Through e-governance, the state ensures transparency, speed, and accessibility for all citizens, especially those in remote and rural areas.
