Blackouts amid ceasefire violations in Raj

The situation in border districts were returning to normal post the ceasefire announcement made by the Ministry of Defence on Saturday evening, but following the ceasefire violation by Pakistan, sirens blew in border districts and emergency protocols were immediately adhered.

Several districts including Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Phalodi, Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Pali, Balotra, and Hanumangarh experienced blackouts as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, in daytime Jaisalmer was placed under a lockdown-like situation with all commercial establishments being ordered to shut down immediately by district collector Gaurav Agarwal. The district administration and police are personally overseeing the closure of markets, hotels, and business activities. Citizens have been urged to return home and stay alert. High alert was declared across the district, with intensified police patrolling.
