RS 457, with MotoGP tech, will arrive in India early next year

Aprilia gets race tech on a road bike

MOTORCYCLES USED in MotoGP and other racing competitions are unlike your road bikes for instance, in road bikes the gearshift pattern is one down, five/six up, but in MotoGP bikes it's the opposite (the riders push the lever down to upshift and pull the lever up to downshift).

But a lot of technology from the track is now finding way into roadlegal bikes. For example, the Aprilia RS 457, showcased in New Delhi on the eve of MotoGP and which will be launched in India early next year, benefits from the company's MotoGP experience, where it competes as team Aprilia Racing (its riders are Maverick Viñales, Aleix Espargaro and Lorenzo Savadori).
