Want to keep NRI share at 25% of sales for now
Financial Express Lucknow
|March 12, 2025
Non-resident Indians (NRIs) at present account for one-fourth of total residential sales at large developers such as DLF, up from 7-10% before the pandemic, as top cities continue to see price appreciation and rising demand for luxury and ultra-luxury properties.
-
The trend has also been fuelled in part by the depreciation in the rupee against the dollar.
Aakash Ohri, joint MD and chief business officer of DLF Homes, tells Viveat Susan Pinto in an interview. Excerpts:
The return of NRIs into Indian real estate has been significant in the last few years. How long do you see this momentum lasting? Will the 25% NRI share you have to total sales increase?
