India flags export, trade challenges

INDIA ONCE AGAIN raised concerns over export controls, trade imbalances, and the urgent need to address them in a multilateral forum, with China present at the discussions.

At the 24th meeting of ministers of economic affairs and trade of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, held on Saturday in Vladivostok, Russia, India stressed that export-related measures must not be misused. The Indian representative warned that they should not be weaponised or misused to create artificial scarcity, distort markets, or disrupt supply chains, adding that their calibrated and transparent use is critical to maintaining trust in international commerce.
