Hiring at Wipro stays subdued; attrition falls

WIPRO'S HEADCOUNT REMAINED largely flat on a sequential basis in the fourth quarter (Q4) of the 2025-26 fiscal year, inching up 0.56%.
The company added 135 employees over the December quarter to take its total workforce to 242,156, compared with 242,021 in Q3. For the full fiscal year, headcount rose by 8,810 from 233,346 in FY25, marking a modest growth of 3.78%.
Meanwhile, market leader Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) last week reported a net addition of 2,356 employees in the January—March quarter, reversing declines recorded over the previous two quarters. Its total headcount stood at 584,519, up from 582,163 in Q3. However, on an annual basis, TCS continued to reflect a contraction in workforce, underscoring an ongoing shift towards an AI-led operating model.
Voluntary attrition declined to 13.8%, marking a 20-quarter low, the company said, compared with 14.2% in Q3 and 15% for FY25.
