Wagon R Tops Sales Charts in Jan-Jun, Creta Close Second

MARUTI SUZUKI'S WAGON R — India's largest-selling car for the last four financial years — has topped the sales charts during January–June 2025 as well, data reviewed by FE showed. Maruti Suzuki sold 101,424 units of this hatchback during January–June — maintaining the lead that started in FY22 (189,000 units) and continued in FY23 (212,340 units), FY24 (200,177 units), and FY25 (198,451 units).
The only two times the Wagon R has been pipped by any car were in CY24, when Tata Punch (202,031 units) outsold the Wagon R (190,855 units), and CY23, when Maruti Suzuki Swift (203,469 units) had beaten it (201,301 units).
