Locuz, Jio to get headstart in supplying GPUs

AI COMPUTING INFRASTRUCTURE providers such as Locuz Enterprise Solutions, NxtGen Datacenter, E2E Networks, Jio Platforms and CtrlS, will have a headstart in supplying graphics process units (GPUs) for the ₹10,000 crore IndiaAI mission, as they have emerged as the lowest price bidders (L1) for supplying the same.

Only once their capacity is exhausted, the other empanelled players will get a chance to supply GPUs. The government has empanelled a total of 10 companies, which also includes Yotta, Tata Communications, CMS Computers India, Orient Technologies and Vensysco, to provide 18,693 GPU units.

Barring Yotta, which has proposed 9,216 GPUs, the other bidders have proposed to make available nearly 1,000 GPU units. For companies like Yotta, which are the lowest second (L2) or third bidders (L3), the opportunity for their GPUs consumption, however, would come in after the other lower bidders exhaust their capacities or are unable to make available their GPU units.
