FDI from US jumps 272%

Overall, FDI rose 15% to $18.62 bn during April-June
DESPITE THE BITTER tariff dispute, the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) equity inflows from the US into India almost tripled to $5.61 billion and accounted for a little less than a third of the overall inflows of $18.62 billion in April-June quarter.
In the same period of last year, the FDI from the US was $1.50 billion.
The FDI was up 15% on year in the first quarter of this financial year.
Singapore chipped in with $4.59 billion, Mauritius $2.08 billion, United Arab Emirates $1.00 billion and $1.10 billion came through Cyprus, according to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
