FRENCH CARMAKER RENAULT is sharpening its India focus, aiming to make the country one of its top global markets over the next few years, backed by a renewed product pipeline and higher localisation.

- NITIN KUMAR

Francisco Hidalgo, vice president (sales & marketing), Renault India, said India could rank among Renault’s top five markets, with the potential to move into the top three within three to four years. He said the company is targeting a market share of 3-5% by 2030, up from less than 1% currently.

“India has the potential, given market growth and our product plan, to become a top-five market easily, hopefully even a top-three market,’ Hidalgo said.
