THE NIFTY 25,000 strike call option surged nearly 1,200% intraday — from 131.90 on Monday to %1,700 — before settling at §726.90, still up 451%.

Foreign portfolio investors were strong buyers, snapping up shares worth %5,236.28 crore, while domestic institutional investors added equities worth %1,014.24 crore, according to provisional BSE data. FPIs also rushed to pare bearish bets, cutting net short positions in Nifty futures by about 20%, from 197,000 contracts on Monday to 157,000 contracts on Tuesday.
A Balasubramanian, MD & CEO of Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, called the deala “decisive win for certainty”. According to him, it removes a key overhang for Indian markets by improving visibility on capital flows, the rupee and manufacturing investment.
