In electronics shipments, US shares climb to 60%

THE US, India's largest export destination, is the mainstay of its outward shipments in both emerging sectors like electronics and traditional industries such as apparel and marine products, according to an analysis by the ministry of commerce and industry.

In the electronics sector, the US accounted for a staggering 60.17% of India's exports during the first quarter of the current financial year (April-June). Overall electronics exports during this period surged 47% to $12.41 billion. The second biggest buyer of electronics, the UAE, had a share of 8.09%, China (3.88%), the Netherlands (2.68%), and Germany (2.09%).
