Committed To A Roadmap
Financial Express Ahmedabad
|September 08, 2025
Brazil and India are entering a transformative era marked by robust diplomatic engagement, expanding economic ties, and deepening cooperation on global challenges.
This July 2025 state visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Brazil solidified a decade-long strategic partnership, founded on shared values and a vision for inclusive growth, peace, and sustainability.
Building on nearly 80 years of friendship, the two countries have committed to a strategic roadmap centered on five priority areas: defence and security, food and nutritional security, energy transition and climate action, digital transformation and emerging technologies, and industrial partnerships. These pillars aim to harness the strengths of both nations for mutual benefit.
Defence cooperation, for example, includes joint exercises, intelligence sharing, and enhanced counterterrorism collaboration, reflecting a commitment to global peace and security.
In agriculture, Brazil and India spearhead innovations in sustainable farming, biotechnology, and animal genetics, crucial for advancing global food security.
