Bears safely returned after escaping to enjoy a feast

AN investigation has been launched after two bears escaped from their enclosure and helped themselves to a week's worth of honey before being returned to their home.

The incident, which took place at Wildwood Devon at Escot Park, near Ottery St Mary, saw a police response, with a police helicopter circling the area and visitors taken to safety.

The two bears, Mish and Lucy, escaped to the food store on site to help themselves to a selection of snacks.

The pair, who are both five, had a week’s worth of honey before being taken back to their enclosure.

The incident lasted around an hour and the bears were closely monitored during the process.
