Police apology for Madeleine parents at last

THE German prosecutor leading the murder investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has revealed that he hopes to complete the probe next year as the Portuguese police apologised to her parents for their failings in the case
Hans Christian Wolters said law enforcers already had “some important pieces” including evidence placing suspect Christian Brueckner close to the Algarve holiday apartment where Madeleine, below, vanished in 2007.
He said that Brueckner, a convicted paedophile and rapist who is in custody in Germany facing further charges, had also been unable to provide an alibi and that an online chat with another paedophile in which he writes about wanting to kidnap and murder a child, and receives a reply containing the letters “mm”, could form part of the case against him.
