Masked man licked blood off knife’ after attack on uniformed victim near barracks

PRIME Minister Sir Keir Starmer said today he was “shocked and appalled” after a soldier in uniform was stabbed in the street near an Army barracks in Kent.

The victim, in his forties, was reportedly knifed several times just before 6pm yesterday near his home in Gillingham close to the British Army’s Brompton Barracks in Chatham.

Witnesses said the attacker was wearing a ski mask and a Nasa-branded bomber jacket and claimed that at the end of the assault he ran his finger across the knife and then licked it One witness, who rushed to the soldier’s aid, said the attacker had been on a moped and ran at the soldier before stabbing him repeatedly.
