AFTER FOUR DAYS OF DELAYS FOR STRIKES THAT NEVER HAPPENED...
RAIL chiefs were today urged to “get a grip” after passengers faced another day of chaos — despite strikes being called off four days ago.
Travellers were this morning confronted with a limited timetable on multiple lines as well as cancellations and packed trains. Rail firms said the “late notice” that the RMT union had given calling off the action meant many trains and crews were not in the right place.
But furious commuters described the situation as a “total joke” and said it was “shoddy that it takes four days to get the trains back in place”. There were calls for ministers to take charge of the situation amid disbelief that it could take so long to get services running again — on a day when walkouts were never planned.
