Wides and poor fielding cost Roding

AFTER last weeks euphoria it was back to Earth for High Roding sides as only the second team achieved a victory.

The first team welcomed newly promoted South Loughton to The Meadow after a mornings rain.

Loughton won the toss and put Roding into bat, which in the conditions was a very wise move.

Rodings normal run-getters Ben Chillingworth and Charlie Knightley fell for 12 and 15 and the middle order collapsed as Roding found themselves on 80-8.

Only a stand of 56 from Freddie Knightley (49 not out) and Archie Halls saw Roding push their way to a total of 145 all out.

Loughton started their innings briskly with Kelkar and De Silva 23. Syed scored 21 and with a near collapse finally reached their target with an over left.
