Halloween is on the horizon and whether you like to try and include your pet in the spooky season or shelter them as much as possible from the neighbour-hood's festivities, vet charity PDSA has put together a Halloween survival guide to help pet owners.

Should you dress your pets up for Halloween?

PDSA Vet Emma Fisher says: “It may be tempting to have a matching costume with your pet, but Halloween costumes for pets can spoil their fun instead of adding to it.

It's important to remember that pet Halloween costumes are only for our enjoyment, and that pets would never wear them if given the choice.

“Some outfits might just be a bit uncomfortable, but others can actually stop your pet from doing normal, essential things like going to the toilet, grooming, or keeping cool.

Hearts striker could etch name in Scottish history

Ten goals in 16 appearances at club level earned him recognition from national coach Steve Clarke. Shankland replaced Hibs forward Kieron Bowie in the squad for the final two World Cup qualifiers, with Scotland joint-top of Group C alongside the Danes. It is unlikely he will play from the start in Greece, with Ché Adams, Lyndon Dykes and George Hirst all probably ahead of him in the queue.
