Capital university gets top marks for leading field in campus cuisine

Edinburgh University has become the first higher education institution in the UK to achieve a national award for serving nutritious and sustainable food.

The accreditation comes from RaisingNutrition, a national body celebrating organisations with a commitment to encouraging healthier food choices.
The award coincided with World Food Day 2025, which was celebrated on October 16, to promote action for global hunger and encourage healthy eating.
It recognises the university’s commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of its students through evidence-based approaches to food, making healthier choices easier and more appealing.
