Carolynne unveils poppy banner tribute for Remembrance Day

A stunning tribute to the fallen in the form of a 12 feet long framed banner containing 1,020 handcrafted poppies is to be erected near the Dumfries War Memorial in Lovers Walk for Remembrance Day.
A member of nearby St John's Church, Carolynne Sorrell, came up with the idea ago more than a year ago and sent out an SOS across Dumfries for help.
Carolynne is thrilled that it has nowbeen completed and will be erected at 11am on November 1 outside St John's so that all those who come to the war memorial or the Remembrance parade and wreath laying will see the tribute to all service men and women.
