Man of match Newall left overwhelmed with pride

YOUNG Jack Newall admits he was “buzzing” with his man of the match award against Crewe in midweek and now has his sights set on contributing even more after a “frustrating” period of niggly injuries.
Newall was one of the bright sparks in a 3-1 loss that featured a whole host of youngsters.
One of those was Zach Scutt, who scored his first goal on his debut, replying to a first half brace from Omar Bogle and an early second half strike from Jordan Hodkin.
Captain Favio Tavares missed from the spot, and it was not meant to be as the Brewers bowed out of the Vertu Trophy at the first hurdle.
But the contest meant a lot to some of the youngsters, including Newall, whose performance belied his young age as he was voted the man of the match.
