AN EXPERT REVEALS WHY SO MANY OF THE BUGS ARE SWARMING
-

FAMILIES have been left puzzled as 'swarms' of ladybirds gather on windows and walls in homes in Derbyshire and the rest of the UK.
Readers have been in touch to say the spotted insects have been invading their homes, while social media has been awash with claims that ladybirds are 'everywhere'.
One reader said: “There are loads of ladybirds on my window, my washing and on me. I think ‘it's not summer but it’s hot’ has sent them loopy.”
Another added: “We have had a massive swarm of ladybirds. I had to close all windows and doors. They are everywhere and the windows are covered in them.”
One wrote on X: “I don’t know what’s going on, but there's loads of ladybirds outside casually swarming around my house!”, while another said: “Ladybirds everywhere! Is this the equivalent of flying ant day?”
