PARENTS AND YOUNGSTERS IN NEW HOUSING DEVELOPMENT HAVE BEEN WARNED

- By NIGEL SLATER Local democracy reporter

CHILDREN have been seen "playing on a live train track" in Derby, prompting major safety concerns that a tragedy could happen.

Alarming reports have been made that youngsters have been accessing the railway track at the edge of a new housing development at Goodsmoor Road in Sinfin.

Parents living in the area have raised concerns and have told a local councillor they had "noticed an increase in trains sounding their horns".

Councillor for the area Sarah Chambers says she is investigating the situation as a matter of urgency and has been left "extremely concerned" by the reports.

The Sinfin and Osmaston councillor has also urged police and Nottingham Community Housing Association, who manage the new development, to address the situation to prevent a tragedy from happening.
