In an initiative to take Abstract art to the people, acclaimed painter and writer, Prakash Bal Joshi conducted a master class here asking the uninitiated to understand the inner world of the artist instead of focussing on just the colourful exterior.

"When you look at a painting you should feel what artist has expressed rather asking what is the meaning of the painting," he said explaining, "a painting is not merely a colourful frame hanging on a wall; rather, it is a reflection of the emotions, experiences, and thoughts that arise in the mind of the artist."

Joshi made the observation while conducting a master class organised by the Maharashtra Seva Sangh (MSS) at Mulund in Northeast Mumbai on Saturday to help people understand and appreciate the art of painting.
