TWO vroue were shot and killed in Mitchells Plain on Saturday night, as Women's Month came to an end at the weekend.
The women, aged 44 and 49 respectively, were murdered while walking in Steenberg Street, Eastridge, on Saturday night around 10.41pm when they were attacked by five unknown gunmen.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said Mitchells Plain police are investigating two counts of murder.
Swartbooi reported: “According to reports the victims, two females, aged 44 and 49, were walking in Steenberg Street in Eastridge on Saturday 30 August 2025 at about 22:41, when five unknown armed males approached them and fired numerous gunshots at them.
