PETITION SUPPORTS AGU COPS IN MURDER CASE

THE State intends to oppose the release on bail of 11 murder-accused Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) cops, despite a petition which has received more than 1 500 signatures from the public in support for the embattled officers.

The cops, who may not be identified as per court ruling, returned to the Athlone Magistrate's Court on Monday for their bail applications.

Their verskyning comes after they allegedly murdered alleged gangster Wade Price from Manenberg on 4 December, following an interrogation of a shooting incident that occurred outside the same court a week ago.
