Valma Matthews, 75, tragically passed away after driver's error

THE community of Bonteheuwel is reeling following a tragic freak accident that claimed the life of a 75-year-old ouma.

According to reports, the deceased, Valma Matthews, was standing in Bonteheuwel Avenue on Thursday afternoon while talking to the driver of a kwaai car at about 12.40pm.

But as they were chatting, the driver put her foot on the accelerator and knocked Matthews.

She was taken to Somerset Hospital for treatment, but unfortunately died of her injuries.
