More giant redwoods in the UK than California

THERE are now more giant redwoods in the UK than in their native California.

The world's largest trees are flourishing after they were first brought across the Atlantic 160 years ago, a study years ago, a study has revealed.

An estimated 500,000 of them are growing in the UK, compared to just 80,000 back home in California.
