Trafford future's bleak after D-day Donna deal

Having returned to City from Burnley this summer and started all three Premier League games this season, Trafford was told it was only a matter of time before he became their No.1 goalkeeper.

With Ederson entering the final year of his contract, the plan outlined to Trafford was to spend a season as backup before graduating to Pep Guardiola’s first-choice option when City's long-term goalkeeper left.

But the £27m signing of Italy Euro 2020 and Champions League winner Donnarumma has put paid to England Under-21s star Trafford’s hopes of becoming No.1 at the Etihad.
