Howe: Nick will take time to settle in top flight

EDDIE HOWE has warned Newcastle’s record signing Nick Woltemade will need time to adjust to life in the Premier League after his £69m move from Stuttgart.

The 6ft 6in striker led the line for Germany on Thursday night but his country lost 2-0 to Slovakia in a World Cup qualifier, with media critics branding his performance as “almost invisible”

A screaming headline in Germany's main newspaper Bild yesterday morning also bellowed: “Historic Germany embarrassment.”

Germany face Northern Ireland in Cologne tomorrow night in a crunch Group A fixture, but it remains to be seen if Woltemade makes the team.
