'PARASOCIAL' IS WORD OF YEAR
"PARASOCIAL" has been named as the word of the year for 2025.
Bosses at Cambridge Dictionary selected it after highlighting the social-media driven trend.
It's defined as involving a personal connection someone feels between themselves and a famous person they do not know.
