MANCHESTER UNITED charged into the Europa League final after hosting their own version of VE Day at Old Trafford.
United came from behind to comprehensively sink Athletic Bilbao and overcome a Spanish Inquisition at Old Trafford.
And their reward will be a return to Bilbao for an all-English showdown with Tottenham on May 21.
Mikel Jauregizar’s stunning first-half strike had offered Bilbao hopes of an unlikely fightback.
But an impressive second-half fightback made it another memorable European night for Ruben Amorim’s side.
Substitute Mason Mount equalised with 20 minutes remaining, before Casemiro’s glancing header put United 2-1 ahead on the night.
And as the clock ticked down, Rasmus Hojlund got in on the act, before Mount got a second - from near the halfway line - to seal their place in the final.
It gave a rare moment of celebration for boss Amorim, in what has been an otherwise miserable spell in charge since arriving in November.
The hard work had been done in northern Spain last week, with a little help from Bilbao of course.
