Packing light the minimal fuss way

Even on a short trip, I seem to feel the need to take every item of clothing I own to account for every possible weather condition.

It all came to a head last year when I was charged nearly £50 by one airline for going a couple of kilos over my luggage allowance (half of my stuff hadn't even been worn).

But help is out there. TikTok is full of packing hacks to help you achieve that enviable capsule wardrobe when you go away, and the 5-4-3-2-1 method was one that caught my eye.

The premise is simple: you stick to a neutral colour palette and for a week away, pack five tops, four bottoms, three shoes, two layers such as a coat or cardigan, and finally one miscellaneous item such as a dress.
