Dante hero misses Derby

WILLIAM HAGGAS has turned down the chance to run leading prospect Economics in Epsom’s showpiece Derby.

The classy colt was as short as 7-4 with bookies after he blitzed his Dante Stakes field by six lengths at York.

Eleven horses have followed up in the elite Classic and Economics was a strong contender to go off favourite, with a question mark over Aidan O’Brien’s juvenile star City Of Troy and his current form.
